Compare the structure
HYROX has eight 1 km runs, each followed by a workout station. DEKA uses ten fitness zones, with the amount of running depending on the format. The table below compares the standard formats described by the organisers.
Read the rules for your entry
The format name does not describe every division, team option or movement standard. Read the rules linked from the specific event you plan to enter. Check the equipment, weights, age requirements and team arrangements there.
Choose the practical fit
Compare the location, date, total entry price and travel requirements. Then review the course and division with anyone helping you prepare. A shorter running distance does not tell you whether a format suits your circumstances.
Keep the calendar handy
Use the calendar to compare announced Australian dates. Dates marked as unannounced have no countdown or calendar download until the organiser publishes a date.
| Format | Runs | Stations |
|---|---|---|
| HYROX | 8 × 1 km | 8 workouts |
| DEKA FIT | 5 km total | 10 zones |
| DEKA MILE | 1 mile total | 10 zones |
| DEKA STRONG | No running | 10 zones |
